EliGene® MTB UNI

Intended use

EliGene® MTB UNI Kit is qualitative in vitro diagnostic device intended for the detection of bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis in clinical material or bacterial cultures.

Principle of the method

This diagnostic kit is based on RealTime PCR method using Molecular Beacons hybridization probes. In this kit for the detection of MTB DNA and internal control primers and Molecular Beacons labeled probes (FAM and HEX) are used.

Introduction

Genus Mycobacterium comprises more than 50 species. Among them obligatory pathogenic etiological agents of tuberculosis and leprosy as well as the facultative pathogenic and non-pathogenic species representing important part of naturally biotopes can be found. M. tuberculosis comprises to the one complex with genetically close related M. bovis and it is etiological agents of human tuberculosis. M. bovis is etiological agents of cattle, pets and wild beast tuberculosis and rarely of human tuberculosis.
